Primary Mission

The Geek Support Alliance’s primary mission is to seek out those who need our help and give them support, companionship, and understanding.

We are mostly focused on supporting those who need some company to help them get through life; be it just wanting to play a game, needing help to do the things they’re passionate about, or even just a ear so they can talk about all the weird things they’re interested in.

Our goals are:

- To be as inclusive as possible regardless of gender, age, sex, orientation, neurodiversity, disability, fandom, etc.

- To be as empathetic as possible and to understand your needs.

- To help people lift themselves up and do the things they want to do.

- To put some joy back into people’s lives.

We provide:

- Play! It could be a card game, a tabletop game, or a second player in a video game, the important thing is to have fun.

- Hobbies! Do you want to get into a hobby and are having difficulty? We can lend a hand and maybe learn along with you.

- Media! Want someone to riff along with a movie, would like some company as you’re relaxing in front of the telly, or just really want to show off this really cool thing you’ve been working on.

- Listening! We want to know what interests you and what makes you excited, especially if you’ve got no one else to talk to and are just busting to let it all out.

- And more! Depending on what the Client needs, we’ll see what we’re able to provide.

**THIS IS NOT A THERAPY SERVICE**

Whilst we do abide by confidentiality terms commonly utilized by professionals, we do not offer any qualified mental health services and cannot give any professional advice. Clients are welcome to talk about anything they want, but only in agreement with the Support Worker and any boundaries on both sides are to be agreed upon and acknowledged. If the Client is in need of some professional help, our workers will be happy to assist them and may be able to guide them to the help they seek.
